Woohoo! Congratulations, Benny! How exciting!

I think it’s easy to focus on the most visible metric, the claps. There’s definitely ways to improve your chances of getting your stuff out to a broader audience (thanks to those who’ve had success on Medium sharing their expertise with the rest of us), but that will come!

I’ve been studying the claps vs. fans for my last several pieces, and I find it fascinating. Some clap only a few times, or once, but leave lovely comments. Some don’t clap at all, but leave the most amazing comments. Some clap more, and don’t leave any comments. I’m truly grateful for all of it, each and every person who chooses to spend a few minutes of their day reading something I’ve written.

You’ve got such a great outlook on your experience with Medium, and I love your excitement and positive attitude. There will always be ups and downs, even when you start catching momentum, but that’s all part of it. Best of luck to you, Benny! This is only the beginning for you! :)
