Mindset Shift: Ask Yourself, “But What If I Did Know?”
How “I don’t know” can keep you stuck or serve as a catalyst for growth
When we say things like “I don’t know how” or “I don’t know what I’m feeling” or “I have no idea”, we feel stuck.
We feel overwhelmed, powerless.
Our emotions start bottling up inside, like a pressure cooker.
We close ourselves off from thinking things through.
We think we need big things in order to feel like we “know”, but in reality our brains just need a little shift.
When things seem completely outside of our control, that’s our signal to pause, look inside of ourselves and focus on the things we CAN control.
We can control our thoughts.
We can control our feelings.
We can control how we choose to respond.
We can control whether to stay stuck in indecision or work to take the next tiny action.
We can control whether we get back up and try again.
So next time you feel like you have no idea what to do or where to start, ask yourself, “But what if I did know? What would that look like?”
