Catherine, so much of what you wrote spoke to me. I am very good at scheduling things, but less so at sticking to a schedule once set. I do have a lot of shame around this. Like you (or your previous self), I viewed this as a failing on my part because I wasn’t disciplined enough to see my plans through. But if I think about following a schedule as an act of self care (or self love), it suddenly takes on a whole new meaning. If I’m having difficulty believing in myself in certain areas, I could see where my mental constructs might subconsciously sabotage my efforts where those areas are involved. I journal often, but I’m going to take your advice and really dig into my thoughts around sticking to schedules, and why I’m so quick to let them go. Your article has been really helpful. Thank you!
